I like the characterization of these monkeys. Overall, as a full illustration, I would like to have seen more attention to the layout/composition of the piece as a whole. You don't necessarily need a background but just more of a play with the positive/negative shapes to keep the viewer interested in the illustration.

Some of the limb placement on the hanging monkey is throwing me, but I do really like cel shading on these guys. The little fellow on the left seems to be in serious zombie pain, too. Get him some brains, quick!

I dig the animated look of this piece and the characters are fun. I'm a bit confused about the hanging monkey from an anatomical point of view. The limb placement seems a bit awkward. Also, it would have been nice to color them a bit differently as they seem to be the same value as the gray BG.

Hey Christopher,

I dig these monkeys. I like the style, and the expressions are fun. I agree with Tracy about the coloring. These guys give you an AWESOME chance to really pop the character colors. Purples, greens, oranges... all good zombie monkey colors. And I am also confused by the hanging monkey's anatomy... it looks like the tail and leg might need to switch places.

My only other comment is in regards to the bottom monkey's face. It isn't totally clear what he is doing. There is a dot and two lines where his right eye should be. I almost see a nose...

This is me trying to help you out, but overall I really do like the piece. Keep going!

I like the cartoon-y quality of the monkeys. In fact, I think the piece could stand to be MORE cartoon-y! I'd really push the poses, emphasizing the line of action. Also, putting one of the monkeys in the extreme foreground would help make the composition more interesting.

Hey Christopher,
The work that takes the animation style is evaluated. However, I feel lacking something. Perhaps it will be a background and balance of the monkeys.

At the risk of sounding grouchy, this piece looks lazy to me. The drawings look like something that was whipped off at the last minute, there's no composition, a radial fill instead of a background..? I think more thought could have gone into every element of this.
